Let's have a look at some quick facts about acne, and the different natural cure options available today.

What is Acne?
Acne is a skin disease characterized by the formation of pimples. It occurs primarily during adolescence or teenage years, however, adults are also seen to develop acne. These pimples are seen on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, and even on the back.

What causes Acne?
When the pores in the skin get clogged with sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria, the skin gets inflamed and develops pink nodules or pimples. Often fried foods and chocolates are blamed for the eruption of acne, however, there is no evidence to prove diet has any effect on the emergence of acne.

Impact of Acne
Although acne is not life-threatening, it can have a negative psychological impact on its sufferer. One becomes extra-conscious about one's looks and the presence of acne simply makes one feel inferior. Teenagers with acne are often prone to depression and also exhibit low self-esteem.

Natural Anti-acne Products
Tea tree oil is found to be an effective anti-acne cure. The bacteria-fighting terpenes present in them kill bacteria responsible for acne. Aloe vera on the other hand is also rich in enzymes, with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, and is commonly used to treat acne. Yogurt, honey, rosewater, Epsom salt, argan oil, grape fruit seed extract, etc., have also been found effective in treating acne. Zinc capsules, vitamin A, and vitamin E tablets can also be taken to deal with acne.
