Questions:

  1. What is Preferred Submission?
In addition to the wonderful benefits described on Suggest a Link, Buzzle.com’s Preferred Submission service is an expedited, fee-based site suggestion service for web sites submitted to the Buzzle.com Chapters. This service is required for sites that wish to appear in both the Chapters and the searchable links database. Buzzle.com's Basic Submission service is available for free for any site that wishes to include their link only in the links database (which is accessible only by conducting a search on Buzzle.com).

By signing up with Preferred Link Submission, you ensure that Buzzle.com will consider and respond to your suggestion in an expedited manner.

Your payment and participation in accordance with the Preferred Submission Service Agreement guarantees that a member of Buzzle.com's editorial staff will look at your site, consider your suggestion to include the site in the Chapters, and respond to you within seven (7) business days from the date that you submit your site for consideration (excluding holiday periods observed by Buzzle.com and any delays due to problems processing your request). Response times are measured based on Buzzle.com's mail servers.

Important: Payment does not guarantee inclusion in the Chapters, site placement, or site commentary. It only guarantees that Buzzle.com will respond to your suggestion within seven business days, by either adding or denying the site. Whether or not your site is added to the Buzzle.com Chapters, you will be charged the nonrefundable fee.

  2. Do I qualify?

  3. Our Terms of Service outlines the following minimum requirements you will need in order to qualify for the Buzzle.com Preferred Submission service. Please note that adhering to these requirements improves your chances of having your site approved, but this is not a guarantee. If your site is not approved, you will be notified, and reasons for your site’s refusal will be clearly stated. If your site has been refused, and you wish to dispute the reasons for refusal, you may write to us by clicking here.

    1) Your site must be in English.

    2) Your site should have original content.

    3) Your site cannot contain pornography, pornographic or adult advertising, erotica or adult-only content, gratuitous or graphic violence, material that infringes on or violates someone's rights, or material that promotes/disseminates illegal activities.

    4) You are solely responsible for ensuring that the content and activities on your site are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. To the extent that pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices may be offered or promoted on your site, you certify that you are a licensed health care provider or other entity authorized to prescribe, distribute or otherwise deal in such products in the jurisdictions in which they are sold.

    5) Your site must contain sufficient pages and recognizable content.

    6) Your site must be up and running seven days a week and 24 hours a day.

    7) Your site should not be under construction, and all links must be working.

    8) Your site must be quick to load.

    9) Your site cannot mirror or redirect to another Web site.

    10) Sites already in the Chapters will have their content re-evaluated, but will not be added a second time unless they are being submitted to a different Chapter than where they appear already.

  4. How do I choose a Submission Path?
Before you submit your URL to Buzzle.com, go to a main Chapters page from the Directory, or click on one of the chapters in the blue navigational column on the left. Choose the Chapter that most applies to your site. You may go to a subchapter within that Chapter, as well. When you find a Chapter on Buzzle.com where you would like to see your URL displayed, click on "Add URL" link (in the Suggested Links section). That’s it!

  5. What is a Golden Bee Award™?
Buzzle.com Moderators are always on the lookout for exceptional web sites that they believe Buzzle.com users would appreciate being told about. Such sites are given the Golden Bee Award™. Awarded sites are highlighted in the Chapter where they appear, above all other links. If the Chapter is broken into several pages (a-c, d-f, etc.) then the awarded site will appear on every one of these pages. There is no set time limit on how long your site will continue to appear under the Golden Bee Award™. Sites that have already earned an award will not lose their status, but the listing will be replaced as new sites are awarded at the Moderator's discretion.

Only sites listed in the Buzzle.com Chapters are eligible for this award. Click Golden Bee Award™ to find out more!

  6. If I already have a link in the Buzzle.com Chapters, do I still have to pay if I submit my site via Preferred Submission?
Only if you are submitting your site in a Chapter other than where it appears now. Consider the current link a freebee if it's there and you didn't pay for it! But, any additional submission of your site will cost you the standard one-time fee. Sorry!

  7. What is Buzzle.com's privacy policy?
Buzzle.com takes your privacy seriously. Please read our Privacy Statement to learn how we treat information collected in connection with Buzzle.com financial products and services.

  8. How much do I pay to submit my site via the Preferred Submission Program?
Buzzle.com's Preferred Submission charges a non-refundable fee each web site submitted. This fee is posted at Buzzle.com's Suggest a Link page, and is a one-time only fee. A link to Suggest a Link appears at the bottom of every page on Buzzle.com. The fee is payable in U.S. dollars to Buzzle.com and will be charged to the credit card number provided during the submission process. Your credit card will be charged as soon as you click on the "Process My Order" button at the end of the submission form.

  9. My site was denied, and I was still charged.
By submitting your site via Preferred Submission, you ensure that Buzzle.com will consider and respond to your suggestion on an expedited basis.

Your payment and participation, in accordance with this Agreement, guarantee that a member of Buzzle.com's editorial staff will look at your site, consider your suggestion to include the site in the Chapters, and respond to you within seven (7) business days from the date that you submit your site for consideration (excluding holiday periods observed by Buzzle.com and any delays due to problems processing your request). Response times are measured based on Buzzle.com's mail servers.

Payment does not guarantee inclusion in the Chapters or site placement. It only guarantees that Buzzle.com will respond to your submission within seven business days.

  10. How many sites can I submit via Preferred Submission?
You can submit as many sites as you want via the Preferred Submission program. For each web site submitted for consideration under the Preferred Submission program, Buzzle.com will charge your credit card with the nonrefundable fee mentioned in How much do I pay to submit my site via the Preferred Submission Program?.

For the minimum web site qualifications, please refer to Section V of the Preferred Submission Terms of Service.

  11. My credit card was charged incorrectly, and I was billed twice. How do I get the charge removed?
After you submit your site, you will receive email notification from Buzzle.com that will include an order ID for your submission.

Please use the order ID as a reference for billing-related questions only, and contact our Customer Care Department to have the incorrect charge removed from your credit card.

  12. My site was not placed in the category I requested.
Each site is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We consider all of the products and services a company offers when placing its site in the Chapters. But, if the Buzzle.com team member who approves your link finds a better place in our Chapters for it, then he may not place it where you originally submitted your site.

  13. What do I do once I submit my site through the Preferred Submission program?
After you submit your site, you will receive an email from Buzzle.com giving you an order ID for your submission. Please use the order ID as a reference for billing-related questions only.

Within seven (7) business days from the date that you submit your site for consideration (excluding holiday periods observed by Buzzle.com and any delays due to problems processing your request), you will receive another email informing you whether your site has been added or rejected. You will be entitled to one appeal of Buzzle.com's decision.

To appeal, you must reply to the email you received from our Preferred Submission editorial staff within 30 days from the date that Buzzle.com sent the email to you. All appeal requests will be answered by email in the order in which they are received. After Preferred Submission responds to an appeal, no further appeals or submissions of the same site will be considered by the Preferred Submission department.

If you have billing-related questions, please contact our Customer Care Department. Make sure to include your order ID number.

  14. Can I still submit my site through the Basic Submission?
Yes, you can still submit your site through our Basic Submission process.

Listings in our searchable links database remain free with the Basic Submission. The Buzzle.com Basic Submission will place your site's URL in our searchable links database, which is accessible only through Buzzle.com's search engine.

  15. What if I need to make changes to my site once it's added to Buzzle.com?
Be very careful as you submit your listing through the Preferred Submission program. Buzzle.com does not allow changes to your listing. If your URL or site description changes, and you wish these changes to be reflected on your Buzzle.com listing, you must submit your link through the Preferred Submission process again, and be charged the one-time fee for your submission. If your listing contains an error caused by us, or if you have questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us.

  16. My site was denied. Can I appeal the decision?
You are entitled to one appeal with Buzzle.com. Only appeals received by email will be considered. Buzzle.com must receive your email within 30 days from the date that Buzzle.com sent the acceptance/rejection email to you.

To appeal, please reply to the decision email you received which confirmed that our editorial staff had reviewed your site. All appeal requests will be answered by email in the order in which they were received. After Buzzle.com responds to an appeal, no further appeals or submissions of the same site will be considered.

  17. What constitutes a Non-Profit or Government site?
  18. Non-Profit, Not-for-Profit, Government, and Education sites are exempt from the fee for a Preferred Submission.

If your site has obtained non-profit or not-for-profit status from the government, or if your site represents a school or a branch of the government, then chances are you will qualify for a free listing.

Here are a few examples. Please note that these are only examples and not exhaustive of the types of sites that would be approved.
