Britney Spears proved once again that money and fame do not buy class, this time by failing to keep an appearance at her own camp.
The pop tart was a no-show at her Camp for the Performing Arts in Cape Cod, Mass. and at this year's VMAs. Reportedly, Spears went for a check-up on her injured knee and her doctors advised her not to fly since her knee had taken a turn for the worse and had become swollen and he didn't want it to be affected by air-pressure changes.
Spears heads up a camp for the performing arts and the kids worked long and hard to perform for Spears at the end of the season. Instead of the popster, they got her Mom. Fans and campers alike were disappointed in Brit's behavior. She did check in via satellite, but according to sources, the kids were not satisfied with this because they felt Spears was not paying attention - sources say she was looking in the other direction and talking to fiancé Kevin Federline.
On top of that, while she was reportedly staying off her injured and swollen knee, the pap tart was spotted all over Southern California having dinner and buying video games with Federline. Her fans felt dissed by the singer. Her rep said, "It's unfortunate, but that doesn't mean she can't continue life or eat dinner. First and foremost, she wanted to attend the camp, and then the VMAs. But she couldn't go to either since they were on the East Coast." Whatever the case, Britney has been photographed all over the place looking ragged and dirty. She has been photographed emptying an ashtray over a balcony and exiting dirty public bathrooms barefoot...talk about toxic! What is she doing? She is slowly but surely ruining her reputation to live in some trashy fairy tale with Federline. If she continues to ignore the people that helped get her to where she is, who is she going to count on buying her next album?
