The Surreal Life 3
The third season of The Surreal Life aired last Sunday, featuring the latest cast of semi-celebs doing their best to hang on to stardom.
This installments cast includes former New Kid on the Block Jordan Knight, Charo, comedian Dave Coulier, the ex-Mrs. Stallone Brigitte Nielson, rapper Flava Flav, and American Idol finalist Ryan Starr. This season, VH1 picked up the series after The WB, which aired the first two seasons, dropped the show over reported "creative differences." The show’s premise is to throw a number of B-list celebs into a house for a couple of weeks and see what happens.
The dynamic so far has proved to be very interesting. Flava Flav and Brigitte have a love-hate relationship that seems to change with each drink Brigitte takes. Jordan has already offended Coulier by saying of his former Full House co-stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, "I wouldn't mind sharing a hot tub with them." Dave didn’t appreciate the comment. Charo seems the best-spirited of the group although at times it can be a little hard to understand her. As for Ryan Starr.. What is she doing there again? Oh yeah…trying to jumpstart her music career. Rounding out the cast is a house puppy that came nameless and each housemate has called him something different each time - Cuchi, Boogie, Fatso, and Buster to name a few. After a few weeks with this motley crew, the dog is sure to have identity issues. The roommates must band together and collaborate on a song, which future previews have indicated is going to be a major disaster. Should prove to be quite humorous…
The first season of The Surreal Life featured M.C. Hammer, Gabrielle Carteris, Vince Neil, Brande Roderick, Emmanuel Lewis, and reality TV’s Jeri Manthey. Season two featured Ron Jeremy, Tammy Faye Baker, Erick Estrada, Traci Bingham, Rob Van Winkle (a.k.a - Vanilla Ice), and the requisite reality show vixen Trishelle Cannatella. Wouldn’t it be fun if the next installment included the likes of Whitney Houston, Howard Stern, and Weird Al?
