Bills trample Pats, 31 - 0
What? Are you expecting some cutsey little lead-in about the Pats when they did nothing today? You want hear how to STINK up Ralph Wilson Stadium.
In a game where a defensive player named Sam Adams seemed to mock the New England Pats fans with sports irony. Returned an interception for a TD tells the story of how the day went at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
For one second if you thought you were going to click on this article and read about me spewing about who accomplished this and who accomplished that today... You were dead wrong.
I'm not acknowledging anything this team did today except for the fact that the "Milloy Factor" ruined this team's morale for this week just as I had predicted.
I'll stick by it so strong that I'll even call out those who argued with me through emails and phone calls about this team releasing Milloy the way they did.
Dumping Milloy five days before the season opener sent this team into array.
From Kent, to Mike, to Phil, and the rest of those I know who felt the move was justified because...
1. Milloy was making too much money.
2. Milloy was being selfish.
3. Milloy's numbers dropped for one measly season. After he had led the team in tackles for every year till 2002.
How do you all now feel knowing that you may have to watch S Antwain Harris getting played week after week as he did on his first defensive match up with WR Eric Moulds?
Milloy finished with five tackles, one tipped pass for an INT , and one sack, while S Rodney Harrison finished with six tackles and was seemingly the only player out there showing any type of life from the opening Bills possession.
The defense didn't show up to play, and they didn't look comfortable in the 3-4 formation, to the point where at times they even seemed confused.
Do they have to get over it?
Yeah, so maybe it was a good thing they matched up against Milloy this early on and got spanked.
Now that they can focus on the Eagles for next week, because you can't tell me that this team was not affected by the events that went down.
It was so noticeable that Belichick avoided the Milloy questions during the Fifth Quarter press conference like the Catholic church hid child molesting priests.
And since I'm still on the topic of defense... How good did the Bills defense look with LB Takeo Spikes?
This guy's talents deserve to be televised on a national level. I'm going to love watching this guy play.
Then, just when I thought Pats NT Ted Washington was HUGE, you see Sam Adams at 6'3, 230 pounds.
This guy is another monstrosity, but not bigger than Washington.
One thing is for sure, adding Milloy to this defense was like a giving candy to four year old before bed time.
They are going to have fun this season.
So now the Pats go into Philadelphia... Oops, I almost forgot to talk about the offense, or was the offense even there today with the exception of RB Kevin Faulk.
If I remember correctly at the half the Pats had negative total yards and not one first down.
QB Tom Brady with four picks will take the hit for this game as his passes were all over the place, but the WR's shouldn't get off that easy because there were some dropped passes that would have made this game somewhat interesting.
Including two in the end zone.
But, the story of blunders didn't end there, especially when I almost kicked my TV screen in when TE Fred Baxter committed a defensive holding penalty on a Bills punt giving them an automatic first down.
So where do the Pats go from today where the only bright spot in watching was the Bud Light "Message in a bottle" ad?
They have to forget about Milloy, and get ready for Philly or they will get destroyed.
This Eagles game will also be in favor of the Pats because most teams who play on Monday night usually lose on the following Sunday.
