Title: If These Walls Could Talk
Genre: Country-Rock-Pop
Label: Waffle Ranch Records
Lisa Dames is a diva to keep an eye on. Her new EP If These Walls Could Talk cast the spotlight in her direction and she comes through with a hand that is hard to beat in the competitive game of independent music. She is a woman in control of her destiny and those feelings come through loud and clear on this album.
Dames’ vocalizations emulate the late great Patsy Cline. She is so convincing that the legendary singer’s estate sanctioned her to portray the country music legend in the musical "Always…Patsy Cline" and the tribute album The Music of Patsy Cline.
The standard "Viva Las Vegas" was a great choice to open this album with, Dames makes a statement immediately that she is a serious contender to win you over by laying her heart and voice on the line. Her energy is contagious, and it spreads like wildfire throughout your entire body in a matter of seconds. I love the way the album closes out with the sizzling "Shake, Rattle and Roll," it will remind you of when rock was young and Elvis was shakin’ his pelvis.
This is a solid recording with stand up musicianship. It is unfortunate for the listener that this is merely a taste of this great talent; however, I am most certain that there will be a full-length album in the works after the great reception this will receive. The word is out, Lisa Dames is a shining star ready to burst into a super nova, watch for the bright lights soon.
