Fool's Love

A poem of trying to have a love life stay alive.
Life with you was perfect
I was happy and content
I saw the glass half full

I loved the way we held each other in the dark
I loved the way you kissed me
I loved he way you loved me…

Things change though…
Darkness crept over your soul
You hit and screamed

My love was shattered
My self-esteem swept away
I was left with a hungry feeling

You destroyed my dreams
You obliterated my life
But I kept smiling…

I walked with a smile on my face
Even with all those bruises
Those scratches…
Those dreadful memories...

I was tormented inside
I hated you..
I HATED YOU

You twisted my life into knots
I couldn’t feel joy
I was now numb to all feeling

But I kept smiling
But not for you
You sick bastard…

I kept smiling to try and keep this dead love alive
Or…
What was left of it…

I kept smiling for our friends
They didn’t need to know
My little own Hell I was living in..

I now am alone
With an abusive lover
I saw the glass full at one time
But now all I see is the blood and hatred
Spilling from within

Love..
It’s a fool’s paradise…
Now there isn’t anything left
Just the corpse of a tormented being…
