Announcing The Racing For Kids(R) Grand Prix

LAKEVILLE, CT -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 09/20/00 -- The chase for the $300,000
Career Enhancement Award and the Barber Dodge Pro Series Championship will
likely be decided at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Oct . 6-8 at the Racing For
Kids(R) Grand Prix featuring the Barber Dodge Pro Series. The 12th and final
round of the 2000 Pro Series will run a combination of the infield road course
and the oval. The 11-turn lay out will begin with turn-1 of the infield, and
continue through turn-9 where the infield joins the oval's back straight.
Turns-10 and 11 will be comprised of banked oval turns-3 and 4 before finishing
the lap on the front straight.

For the first time in Barber Pro Series history, the event will be a stand
alone, not running as a support to any other professional race series. In 2000
the Barber Dodge Pro Series raced in support of the CART FedEx Series eight
times, in addition to supporting both of the American Le Mans Series marquis
events, the Exxon Superflo 12 Hours of Sebring and the forth coming Petit Le
Mans at Road Atlanta. The traditional Memorial Day weekend stop at Lime Rock
Park ran in conjunction with the Grand American Road Racing Series.

"There were no good opportunities to run with an existing event for what
we felt was the appropriate amount of track time to settle the series
championship at the level of quality we expect," said Barber Dodge Pro
Series Managing Director Jeremy Dale on the decision to run a stand alone event.

"At this event the drivers will have a generous amount of track and
practice time for a race that is pivotal not only to the overall title, but to
the drivers who are seeking opportunities to progress their careers,"
continued Dale.

Founded in 1989 at Children's Hospital of Michigan, Racing For Kids is
designed to use the increasing popularity of motorsports to bring public
attention and funding to the health care needs of children. The hospital visits
form the heart of the program. Each Racing For Kids driver and rider visits
children in Children's Hospitals where they race. They spend time with each sick
youngster answering questions about their sport, handing out the distinctive
Racing For Kids hats and signing autographs. "Racing For Kids has begun the
new millennium with our best season ever, as we successfully have used
professional motorsports to promote the health care needs of children and
children hospitals across North America. The culmination of this season is the
Racing For Kids Grand Prix featuring The Barber Dodge Pro Series in Homestead,
FL," said Dr. William Pinsky, founder of Racing for Kids. "Our
relationship with Skip Barber has grown steadily, involving current drivers and
graduates of the series in hospital visits and Racing For Kids activities
throughout North America. In no small part has the recent success of RFK been
linked to our partnership with Skip Barber."

Several off track activities will involve children from Miami area children's
hospitals and youth organizations throughout the weekend.

Leading the title charge is Californian Jon Fogarty who after round 10 holds
a four-point advantage over Brazilian Nilton Rossoni. They are the only two
drivers remaining with a possibility of being crowned champion. Rossoni has a
remote chance to clinch the title at Road Atlanta as only a driver's 10 best
results count toward the overall tally. That factored in, a Rossoni victory
coupled with a non-points scoring finish for Fogarty would moot any result at
Homestead. However the consistency that both men have shown in their ability to
score points over the season would make that an unlikely scenario. Previous
Barber Dodge Champions include Robbie Buhl, Bryan Herta, former Indy 500 and
IRNLS Champion Kenny Brack and Team KOOL Green CART Dayton Indy Lights driver
Jeff Simmons.

The unique aspect of this event will also allow the Pro Series to host a
drive day following the conclusion of the race. Media and VIPs will have the
opportunity to drive the 275 horsepower, carbon-fiber Dodge Reynard 98E on the
Homstead circuit. Interested parties should contact George Tamayo no later than
