An addiction at the age of 5

Let me paint you a picture,
With the blood over my hands,
A 5 year old girl that has an addiction,
Not barbies not makeup not anything nice,
She sits in the bath with a trembling hand
As she holds the knife against her wrist,
And draws pretty pictures
Of what her life should be,
All pretty flowers and birds that sing,
But instead her life is dark and filled with pain,
Instead of drawing pictures with crayons she paints her pictures with blood,
She gets a high when she pours metho over her cuts,
She loves the feeling of her warm blood flowing over her cold body,
She loves the feeling of when she’s about to faint,
She lives her days not knowing if it’s her last,
As she has an addiction, and it has no cure
No one knows about her addiction and no one really would care
She’s alone and has no where to turn
She paints her pictures with the blood on her hands,
She is a 5 year old girl with the addiction for pain
