Solitude

Nowadays it is so quiet in the house. I was so used to my son being home over the summer break. Even our pet cat feels the solitude. She just acts differently when everyone is gone. She becomes more needy, rubbing and meowing constantly. I myself kind of relish the quiet this time in my life. I am constantly writing now. In fact it takes up a good part of my day. I like the quiet, so I can focus on my writing. I think I have visited every site looking for work. Freelance, articles, poetry.

I have sent out queries and samples of my work. I keep my fingers crossed. I already write for an online magazine, but I need something that pays. If I am going to write constantly anyway, I want to get paid for it. There are so many sites, it can be overwhelming. Last night I was surfing so long, my eyes hurt. People always tell you to be persistent. I am certainly doing that.

So when the house is quiet, I write. This is my most productive time. When my family gets home, it is just to noisy and chaotic. I always tell people, I have two kids. My lovely son, and my boyfriend. They seem to always want something. Especially when I am busy. So right now, I will take the solitude.
