Britney Spears & Madonna BFF!

Britney and Madonna best friends? Their admiration for one another started as a joke, or so the public thought. One day Madonna wore a Britney tee shirt and the immediate thought was it was a jab at the younger songstress. Not so much. Madonna admitted a fondness for the pop tart, maybe she reminded Madge of herself at the same age.

Since then, the singers have shared their admiration for one another and then this year’s MTV Video Music Awards showed another side of their friendship. The two apparently became close while rehearsing for their big number at the awards show. For those of you still in the dark, Britney and Christina Aguilera opened the show with their version of Madonna’s classic ’84 tune Like A Virgin. Madonna joined the two onstage and locked lips with both Spears and Aguilera. Apparently, Britney was the steamier kisser since footage of their kiss dominated the airwaves, with Christina’s kiss a mere mention.

Britney must’ve done something right for Madonna to agree to cameo on the new track Me Against the Music, slated to hit the airwaves on September 30, is the lead single off Spears’ new album A video, guest starring Madonna, follows on October 13. The album Get in the Zone, is set for a November 18 release and will feature 13 songs, 7 of which Spears co-wrote. Let’s see if album number four can keep up with her previous three albums which all debuted at number one. Will Britney still have an audience after shedding her good girl image? Maybe an edgier Britney will make be tops with an older audience!
