Posh & Becks Suing Mad

Posh and Becks initially requested an apology from the rag mag after it ran an article titled "Posh and Becks on Rocks" earlier this month. The Beckham’s claim the article caused them "considerable distress" and, with no apology forthcoming from the magazine, the Beckham’s have called in their legal team. Their legal team released the following statement Tuesday, "David and Victoria Beckham today initiated legal proceedings against the News of the World in relation to an article published on Sunday, 12 September 2004. The News of the World was given the opportunity to provide an apology but have chosen not to respond to the couple’s request."

This is the second time in almost six months that the couple has sought the advice of legal counsel. In April, News of the World reported that Becks had had an affair with his former assistant Rebecca Loos and with a model named Sarah Marbeck while married to Posh. In the wake of that storm, the Beckham’s threatened legal action and traipsed off to the French Alps for some very public displays of affection to try to prove they were a loving and united front.

Whether or not their loving front is for real are not, their trip to the French Alps apparently worked since they are expecting their third boy in March. The baby will join older brothers Brooklyn and Romeo. So the question is, what are they going to do? Sue someone every time someone says something bad about their relationship? It seems like it could get to be a very expensive habit. If their marriage really is intact, why not just prove the gossipmongers wrong by living happily ever after? It seems silly to threaten lawsuits every time something negative is printed about your marriage!
