Rebecca Romijn Engaged

Jerry O’Connell’s publicist, Joy Fehily, confirmed that after dating for a year O’Connell and Romijn are officially engaged. The couple said in a joint statement Tuesday, "We couldn’t be happier and are looking forward to the next chapter of our lives." Reportedly, O’Connell popped the big question and placed a "humongous diamond ring" on Romijn’s finger in New York at his family’s apartment over the weekend. No official word yet as to specifics of the nuptials.

The happy couple met on the set of the romantic comedy Man About Town in April 2004, just after Romijn’s split from hubby John Stamos. O’Connell and Romijn were first seen together in Los Angeles last September at an Al Green concert. They have been joined at the hip since. The two also worked together on The Alibi, which has yet to be released.

Romijn and Stamos were married for five years when they shocked fans by announcing their split in April 2004. Their divorce was finalized one month later. At the time of their break-up it was reported that the split was amicable and that there was no third party involvement. The rumor mill went into overdrive and it was speculated that Stamos wanted to start a family while Romijn was more focused on her career. Others believed that Stamos was jealous of his wife’s thriving career while he struggled to make a comeback. Whatever the case the two moved on and are enjoying separate lives.
