No Burger King for Paris

Socialite Paris Hilton was reportedly in talks to plug the fast food chain, but a Burger King spokesperson says it’s a no go.
"We are not doing business with her," Burger King spokeswoman Jaime Rupert said. Sources from Paris’ camp said last week that BK was very interested in using Paris and reported that she would receive a paltry $750,000 to appear in the ads. Rupert could not confirm that BK was ever in talks with the heiress. Reportedly, Paris’ titillating lifestyle was the deal breaker. Supposedly the stuffed shirts at Burger King were not happy with the idea of Hilton representing their chain.

An unnamed executive said, "Given the extreme baggage she carries, it was killed." "Extreme baggage" being her amateur porn video, her ugly split with ex Nick Carter and her subsequent mysterious bruises, among other things. It seems that anything associated with the heiress has some drama attached to it. Brain Norris, a Florida-based marketing expert, seems to think that Paris would be the perfect candidate for Burger King ads, since they cater to teens and young adults. He said, "I think [the kind of celebrity you hire] is really inherent in the audience you’re trying to market. In the case of Paris Hilton and Burger King, I think it is probably a smart move." I guess Burger King is having it their way…hold the Paris.

It’s not like she needs the gig. Hilton has become the J. Lo of her time. She co-stars with best bud Nicole Richie in The Simple Life, her debut album Paris is Burning is due out later this year, and her autobiography Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose is slated to hit the shelves next week. Not to mention she is set to co-star in a number of upcoming movies and she is anxiously awaiting government approval for a copyright request on a tiara logo that she will slap on any number of products. What could she possibly do to top herself now? Knowing Paris, she will find a way!
