The Incredible Shrinking Kidman

Recently Kidman attended a performance of Matt and Ben, the hit comedy about the lives of actors and best pals Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Onlookers were shocked by the 5’10 Aussie actress’s painfully thin frame. A source said, "Her hips looked tiny and you could see her knee bones jutting in her trousers." Kidman has dealt with quite a bit of turmoil over the past few years. Her career has taken off since the demise of her almost 10-year marriage to Tom Cruise. She won an Oscar, has just begun work on her next project The Stepford Wives, and has reportedly inked a deal for another three films. Maybe her hectic work schedule and frenzied personal life have taken their toll.

Her personal life has taken quite a ride in the past two years. Since splitting with Cruise, Kidman has been linked to every Hollywood hottie from Lenny Kravitz to Ewan McGregor to Q-Tip Russell Crowe among others. In March, a British mag named Nicole Kidman as the home wrecker in the Jude Law-Sadie Frost marriage, claiming she had had an affair with Law while filming their Civil War epic, Cold Mountain. Kidman fought back and won a "substantial" judgment and an apology from the Daily Mail last month. Now that Law and Frost are splitting, that leaves Kidman and Law to embark on a romance if indeed there was a spark.

Kidman is just the latest actress to cross over from thin to dangerously thin. There have been concerns about many actresses weight loss, especially Ally McBeal’s Calista Flockhart and ex-Practice star Lara Flynn Boyle. The need to be thin in Hollywood walks a fine line with endangering one’s life. Boyle has consistently been dropping pounds since she was let go from The Practice. She says she is just naturally thin and likes to eat "slim jims, banana cake, and pie a la mode." She also denies reports of an eating disorder by saying, "I’m Irish, we are just a thin people." Oh, okay Lara! That explains it! Maybe her and Nicole can share recipes on their favorite recipes on how to prepare lettuce.
