Kelly Ripa: Expecting and Marriage Woes?

Ripa and Consuelos met on the set of ABC’s All My Children in 1995 where they played lovers. The on- and off-camera couple eloped a year later in Vegas. They have a five-year old son, Michael, and a one-year old daughter, Lola. Ripa has said that baby three will probably be her last. She said, "three is a nice, civilized number."

The New Jersey native does double duty as co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly as well as appearing on All My Children. Last year when little Lola was born, Ripa took a month off from both jobs to be at home with the newborn. She will most likely do that with this baby as well. Her hopes are to be able to stay at home full-time and she has been quoted as saying, "I’ve always said to Mark, as soon as his film career takes off, I’m staying home with the kids. That’s sort of my ambition."

According to many rumors, the rift in their marriage has been caused by the success of her career compared to his rut in Soap land. Sources say that Consuelos is feeling increasingly more insecure about his role in their marriage. Another source claims that Ripa purposely got pregnant to try and save their fledging romance. Rumors run rampant among the stars. Who is to say what is true but the people under scrutiny themselves? Ripa and Consuelos may have the perfect marriage, but the public eats up heartbreak much more so than true love.
