AI - Acquired Intelligence

This article is about the way we have evolved as humans. It is just a passing thought on the intelligence that we have acquired in years. It relates AI in a totally different dimension.
Chaos and confusion does not sound weird anymore. It is 2005 and the world has advanced a lot to a whole new civilization. Humanoid machines have come to replace humans from all activities. Artificial Intelligence, which is a science that deals in the study of making machines think and behave like humans, is the talk of the century. It is the driving force behind advanced domestic robot helpers. Scientists are working hard on making the robots which are equipped with AI behave more like humans-more human like torso, hand extensions, voice recognition and communication capabilities. They are built to function like a human to monitor situations at home such as break-ins and sudden illness. They will soon be getting a physiologically accurate body structure and facial characteristics as humans. In all we are trying to make these machines more like humans. Sounds great! But hold on. Where do we stand as humans? What are the special traits that we carry as humans?

We stand at the verge of time where humanity is just a mere word. It is all special traits that we carry as humans just like the special characters. We are the humans who wage war against nations for all sundry reasons. Love and compassion is just a poet’s crazy muse. We have the special character of killing our own fellow men deliberately and relentlessly. Deploying missiles, bombing metros and subways, slaughtering in the name of religion and freedom is the intelligence that manipulates us. So are we going to inculcate this intelligence, which we have acquired in due course of time, inside the machines to make them more like humans? It surely is a threat then because we can do without additional help from machines to unleash the terror. This may sound odd. However, it’s what we humans are nowadays- blood thirsty species. And if we are making machines to think and behave like us then its intelligence has to be similarly shrewd. Yes, there were good people around with superb intelligence but they were not human. Florence Nightingale was an angel, so was Mother Teresa. So, should we change the whole idea of AI into making machines think and behave like angels? Well, it is sure that AI is about developing intelligence inside machines for human advantage and not for destruction. It is just a passing thought to remind us of the humans we have evolved into. And we have not gone crazy yet to inculcate the shrewd acquired intelligence. Or have we?
