A Dream Within A Nightmare

As a child, you are told nightmares
Only happen at night
And can not harm you during the day

But they are wrong
My nightmares are outside of my nightmares
Dreams are nightmares but with life

No harm can come
Lies all Lies, nightmares control who I am
And who you are

Huddle in the corner
Crying and screaming
Into the emptiness

As darkness circles and surrounds you
Cry and fight but lose all control
As misery and pain become one

Nightmares walking and running
Around you
The empty streets, playgrounds for monsters

It's killing time, for those who are
Afraid of what is to come and what has already come

You cannot escape you what you dream
