Christie Brinkley Files for Divorce

Brinkley filed papers in New York’s Suffolk County earlier this week after separating from Cook in July when it was revealed he had an affair with teenager. Her lawyer, Norman Sheresky, said, "The next step would be for [Brinkley] to serve a complaint and/or for the parties to negotiate an amicable agreement." Brinkley has yet to comment on her separation and impending divorce. This will be Brinkley's fourth divorce. She has previously been married to artist Jean-Francois Allaux, singer Billy Joel, and developer Richard Taubman.

As for Cook, his lawyers have been very open about the subject. David Aronson, one of his lawyers, reportedly said, "[Cook] regrets that this happened. He was hopeful that they would be able to work through this problem and put their marriage back together, but obviously se has decided otherwise. He has instructed us that we are to handle this matter in as amicable and private a fashion as possible under the circumstances, and he hopes that everyone out there can respect the privacy of Christie and the children."

Brinkley and Cook announced their separation on July 11 after 10 years of marriage. The couple has a daughter Sailor, 8. Brinkley has a 20-year old daughter, Alexa Rae, with Joel. She also has an 11-year old son, Jack, from her brief marriage to Taubman. Cook adopted Jack when he wed Brinkley in 1996. Brinkley called it quits after she found out Cook had had an affair with 18-year old Diana Bianchi whom he hired to work at his architecture firm. Their affair began when she was 17-years old and continued for about a year. Cook copped to the affair and publicly pleaded with Brinkley to reconcile their differences calling his actions "stupid," "foolish," and "an aberration." Obviously Brinkley is not interested in any form of reconciliation.
