Kart Expo Comes Home To Chicago!

Kart Expo International, the premier exposition for the kart racing industry in North America, was held last December in Covington, Kentucky

WHEATON, IL -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 09/12/00 -- Kart Expo International, the
premier exposition for the kart racing industry in North America, was held last
December in Covington, Kentucky. In January, following the suggestions of many
in the racing industry, Kart Expo producers, The Kart Marketing Group, Inc.,
began the long, arduous task attempting to locate a suitable show venue in the
Chicago area. After months of research, we are pleased to announce that Pheasant
Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, Illinois will be the site of
the 9th annual Kart Expo International. The show, which began in the area in
1993, will be held on February 17-18, 2001 at the celebrated suburban Chicago
resort.

Following are the major reasons for the return to the Chicago area which will
serve as the permanent home for Kart Expo in the future.

Date - The necessity of having the show after the Christmas holidays but
before the beginning of the racing season presented a small window of
opportunity. Dozens of possible show sites were visited, most of which had no
available dates or were otherwise unsuitable. We were extremely fortunate to
find a date and location which would not interfere with other karting shows or
swap meets in the area. The mid-winter timing will also give manufacturers a
better chance of having new equipment and chassis models ready for debut during
this period.

Location - Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center is located approximately
40 miles straight west of Chicago in St. Charles, Illinois. It is easily
accessible from both of Chicago's major airports, O'Hare and Midway and is
located next to DuPage Airport for those who fly private or corporate aircraft.
It is also conveniently located near major thoroughfares and the interstate
highway system.

The convention center itself is attached to the resort and is fully carpeted
for exhibitor/attendee convenience. There is also ample free parking for trucks,
trailers, motor homes and autos. The resort, one of the finest family hotels in
the Midwest, boasts three swimming pools, an award winning dinner theater,
Zanies Comedy Club, and outstanding cuisine. If you're up for a night of
gambling, there are three riverboat casinos in the area. St. Charles and
neighboring Geneva are meccas for antiquing and sightseeing as is, of course,
Chicago, with it's museums (the new T-Rex display has just opened) and other
world famous sites. Want a treat? Have dinner at The Hideaway, a restaurant in
St. Charles, which was a safe-house used by Al Capone in the 1930s.

Aspecial rate at Pheasant Run has been arranged: $95 single/double, $105 for
triple. And remember, the Monday after the show is President's Day, a school
holiday, so why not make a family vacation out your trip to see Kart Expo? You
really can't beat the Chicago-area for convenience and things to do.
