Letting Daddy Go

For my father who passed away 01-06…
As we gathered today, we knew this was the end.
We stood around your bed, held hands and we prayed.
We talked of all the good times...we laughed and we cried,
We held your hands and kissed your cheek...we were saying our goodbyes.
We watched your hard deep breaths every second of the day, we asked God to please take you home…so you would suffer no more...
To please open heavens doors.
An angel appeared at the foot of your bed,
That only you and mom could see...
She was waiting ever so patiently.
She told mom, you must be strong now...
You need to let him go, for I’m waiting to take him to his heavenly home.
Mom whispered in your ear...
"My dear, how I love you so"...you are my world and I will miss you so.
But an angel is waiting to take your hand to go with her to that beautiful heavenly land.
We will be together again.
You must have heard her voice...and knew it was ok,
For you closed your eyes and went to sleep.
It broke our hearts to lose you dad...we are so lonely and sad.
We know that you are in a better place...
And no matter what life may bring...
Our memories of you can never be erased!
So farewell sweet daddy....till we meet again.
