Benidorm to Cash in With Plaza Coronation Street
The Spanish resort of Benidorm, famous for cheap holidays, chips and the occasional lobster-red Englishman, has decided to name a landmark after the TV soap opera Coronation Street. Plaza Coronation Street will be established at a small square on the corner of Girona and del Derramador streets in the coastal town. In tourist-greedy Benidorm, however, there is no such thing as a free plaza. "Most of the show's viewers visit Benidorm," the town hall claimed. "The idea is to establish a link ... around which publicity and promotion can be based."
