Great Gifts that leave a Big Impression

A selection of gifts to give that will be remembered for years afterwards. Includes advice about how to personalize any gift.
There are some gifts that are described as being ‘for the people who have everything’.
In reality we buy these gifts for a variety of reasons; to give a unique present that gets people talking, a present that will be remembered for years after the birthday/Christmas; and to reflect the personality and sense of humor of the recipient.

Here are some gifts, for every budget, to delight anyone who receives them.

The Chocolate Fountain.
A fondue set for modern times, the chocolate fountain pumps around a stream of melted chocolate, into which you can dip your strawberries, cherries, or other bars of chocolate (for Uber-chocoholics).

Day Out Vouchers.
Race in a rally car, fly a helicopter, go in a hot-air balloon, these gifts can be bought easily and provide a day’s entertainment that will last forever. The choice of event is even more memorable if it is for an event that the person has shown no particular interest in before (e.g. don’t get the Formula 1 day for a car fanatic, get them bungee jumping classes. Take a camcorder along to capture all the nervous reactions.

Full poker table set.
Poker, casino–style, is a hobby that every one secretly wishes they could take part in. Let them win all their friends’ money with a risky bluff by buying them a full poker table-top set, with heavy casino chips, pint-glass holders and instruction manual ("does a straight actually beat a flush, then?").

Heavily Personalized Gifts.
Remember: A great gift is like a great practical joke, it must be so geared towards the recipient that it just wouldn’t make sense if you were to give it to anybody else.

Think about any running jokes you have with this person, any events from their past that they hoped you had forgotten, or what is special about them for you.

These gifts will probably be the cheapest they receive (in terms of money, not in terms of time or thought) but will provide the most joy.
