A Terrorist and Firefighter

Poem about terrorism and firefighters…
Two men face death.
Both strap on gear,
Knowing it to be an instrument of death,
Carrying their soul to an inferno.
One man straps on explosives,
And bows toward Mecca,
Ever committed to taking lives,
A God that demands a sacrifice.

A fire fighter straps on rescue equipment,
And bows his head as he climbs stairs,
Ever committed to saving lives
And to a deeper compassion for people.

The two face eternity
With a deep commitment beyond life.
They are on different planes,
Life is different after they pass.
Each leaves his mark, a sacrifice.

Is the world better now?
Who seeks wisdom in their passing?
