Using Stickers On Your Scrapbook Pages

Learn how scrapbook stickers can help enhance your scrapbook pages.
Over the years, we have had so much fun adding stickers to our scrapbook pages. Each item you add to your page helps tell the story.

When looking for stickers, it’s really important that you choose acid free stickers. Most craft stores and online scrapbook stores all carry acid free stickers.

One tip on buying stickers is to buy seasonal stickers after the season and then put them away for next year.

Alphabet stickers are very popular. I think we own more alphabet stickers than any other sticker. You can buy alphabet stickers in several fonts, several sizes and several colors. Many sets even come in uppercase and lowercase letters.

Here’s a tip for using alphabet stickers; if you are wishing to create a straight line using alphabet stickers, use a piece of wax paper. Place the sticker on the wax paper and then line up where you want the sticker to be. Slowly peel away the wax paper and your sticker is perfectly in the spot where you want it to be. If you are using a bottom line, then begin peeling the wax paper from the bottom upward.

Themed stickers are also very popular. There are stickers for most every occasion. We’ve purchased birthday stickers, wedding stickers, school day stickers, sports stickers and many other sets. Mixing and matching can create awesome scrapbook pages. For example the birthday set might come with confetti, which can be used on a sports page that conveys a victory. There are also themes for most holidays, both religious and secular. We bought a 4th of July set and used the set on the pages with the photos from my daughter’s trip to Washington D.C. We wanted to use all the red, white and blue.

There are also trademarked stickers, such as a Lion King set, or a Mickey Mouse set. Since my kids are older we don’t often buy these sets but they are certainly available.

The finally category of stickers we use are scenic stickers. We’ve bought trees, flowers, beaches, log cabins, and everything in between.

Stickers can be placed right on the scrapbook paper, on photo mounts, photo borders, or even on the photos themselves. Your imagination is your only limitation.
