Justin Timberlake On His Own
Fans and critics are anxiously awaiting *Nsync-er Justin Timberlake’s first solo album, Justified, set to hit stores in early November.
Timberlake performed his new song "Because I Love You" at this year’s Video Music Awards. The whole project has been kept under wraps, but apparently many big name stars have collaborated with Timberlake on many of the tracks. Names like Nelly, Usher, and P.Diddy have been rumored to be on the final cut.
Timberlake, who credits Michael Jackson as being an inspiration, borrowed a few moves from his idol for his VMA performance and the song shied away from the bubble gum style pop that he was used to with *NSync. He has found a more gritty urban style that he says suits him. Timberlake has been itching to get out on his own and make "his music," which would be a sexy Hip Hoppy Soul kind of music. Seems along with ridding himself of "what’s her name," he is shedding his boy next-door image.
There were mixed reviews about his VMA performance and the jury is still out on whether Timberlake has what it takes to make it on his own. Early signs are pointing to Yes. There have been other reports of Timberlake collaborating on a book and also talk of a possible television series. No word yet on whether there is any truth to these rumors. Is there life after *NSync? Will Justin be justified? With his talent and his talented backers it seems as if Timberlake’s star is on the rise. Will this mean the end of *NSync? Better yet, could we be moving toward a boy band-free America?!
