Electronic Arts Signs Daytona International Speedway EA SPORTS Top-Selling NASCAR Franchise To Feature "World Center of Racing" In A Four-Year Deal

Jul 26, 2000 REDWOOD CITY, CA INTERNET WIRE

Daytona 500, the
Superbowl of NASCAR(R), the "crown jewel" of the Cup Series, and 200
of the most exciting, pressure packed laps in all of NASCAR will be featured in
EA SPORTS(TM) new NASCAR racing game. Gamers are challenged to drop the hammer
and see if they can beat Bobby Allison's blistering fast, 173.473 mph average
race speed set on July 4,1980 at Daytona. This is the NASCAR game that delivers
the look and feel of the Daytona International Speedway, home of "The Great
American Race."

The licensing
agreement between the ISC (International Speedway Corporation) and Electronic
Arts, (NASDAQ: ERTS), grants rights for ISC tracks, including the Daytona
International Speedway, and 11 other tracks in upcoming versions of the EA
SPORTS(TM) NASCAR franchise. NASCAR(R) 2001 will feature Daytona's 2.5 mile
tri-oval and the Daytona 500 race along with a host of other NASCAR Cup Series
tracks and more than 35 NASCAR drivers like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale
Earnhardt, and Terry Labonte. Photo-realistic graphics and exclusive TV-style
commentary by Benny Parsons and broadcast legend Bob Jenkins bring home the most
complete NASCAR experience to date in the NASCAR 2001 product line.

"If there's one
race you really want to win, it's the Daytona 500," said 1999 NASCAR Rookie
the Year and 2000 three-time NASCAR race winner Tony Stewart. "I am looking
forward to making my run at the Daytona 500 next year. Until then, I will
experience the realism of the NASCAR 2001 video game to help me practice
different race strategies."

Besides Daytona
International Speedway, the deal allows the inclusion of several Cup Series, ISC
tracks, such as Talledega, Rockingham, Darlington, Watkins Glen, Phoenix, North
Carolina, Miami Homestead, New York, California, and Michigan. Also included in
the deal is the ISC's Nazareth P.A. raceway.

"We are
thrilled to have our tracks featured in the EA SPORTS' NASCAR products,"
said Greg Sullivan, VP Marketing, ISC. "We feel that our tracks add a lot
of value to their NASCAR line-up and we are confident in their ability to make
great NASCAR racing games."

"With the
addition of NASCAR's elite race, the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International
Speedway, EA SPORTS offers consumers the complete NASCAR experience," said
Dave Ross, executive producer of NASCAR at Electronic Arts. "Our goal is to
bring the most realistic and fun gaming experience to consumers and we feel that
the addition of Daytona helps us achieve our goal."

NASCAR 2001 features
real life driver profiles so gamers can compete against the real-life tendencies
of NASCAR drivers--Dale Earnhardt dives low into the corner, Jarrett is strong
on long runs, and Gordon is smooth in and out of the turns. Also, watch for
NASCAR team alliances on the track as drivers show family, team, and
manufacturer loyalty.

Look for the new
NASCAR 2001 for the PlayStation(R) video game console to ship this Fall and for
the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system after the it launches in North
America.
