The Object of the Game

I don't know where this poem came from, I suppose it's a bit simplistic, but it rhymes so nicely. It was written for a friend a long time ago. I hope you enjoy it!
When from the Deck of Life
You seem dealt a bitter hand,
Do not show concern;
For when You hold
Your bets in place,
If You do not win,
You’ll learn.

And if You lose,
You will not fail;
For Life holds so much more
Than the face that’s on a Queen of Hearts
Or the club that’s on a Four.

You cannot love the cards you hold,
Nor the chips to place your bet;
But if you learn to play the game,
You’ll be a winner yet!
