It has been rumored that Kepcher’s departure was directly related to the rumors that she had become too "big for her britches" and that being a reality TV semi-celeb had "gone to her head." Kepcher said in a statement, "After 11 years with the Trump Organization, Donald and I had different visions for my future role in the company. Donald has been an extraordinary boss and a great mentor over the years, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities and experiences he has provided me." Trump’s rep, Jim Dowd, said, "Mr. Trump wishes Carolyn the best."

Kepcher was executive vice president of the Trump Organization and ran Trump National Golf Club in New York and another course in New Jersey. Kepcher was Trumps "right-hand woman" on The Apprentice since the show debuted on NBC in 2004. She wrote a book called Carolyn 101: Business Lesson’s from The Apprentice’s Straight Shooter which was a bestseller leading Kepcher to acquire a manager at ICM and looking at different offers for television and book deals.

A source said, "She became a prima donna. She was giving speeches for $25,000 and doing endorsements." It was reported that Trump just got fed up with Kepcher’s behavior. As for the sixth season of The Apprentice, Kepcher’s departure will not affect the show. Reportedly, Kepcher was not involved in this season, which is set in Los Angeles. The show has wrapped shooting and is set to air in January. It has been reported that Trump’s daughter Ivanka will take over Kepcher’s position.
