Jessica Simpson’s New Romance
It has been reported that singer Jessica Simpson is secretly dating singer-songwriter John Mayer.

Reportedly Simpson and Mayer have known each other for the past few years but just recently have decided to take their relationship to the next level. A source revealed to People magazine that the two are together. Said the source, "She’s tiptoeing back into the dating world. It’s the first stage. She’s never been happier." Mayer is currently co-headlining a tour with Sheryl Crow. The tour kicked off on August 24 and it has been reported that Simpson is set to attend a show in Jones Beach, NY on Wednesday night.
Since Simpson split from hubby Nick Lachey in November 2005 she has not officially dated anyone. It has been rumored that Simpson was romantically involved with actor-singer Jared Leto and comic Dane Cook. Simpson and Cook will appear on the big screen together in the new film Employee of the Month and co-hosted this year’s Teen Choice Awards. Simpson’s divorce from Lachey was finalized at the end of June.
Simpson’s new album A Public Affair, hit stores Tuesday but she was ordered by her doctor to remain silence due to a severe case of laryngitis. Simpson’s rep, Rob Shuter, said, "Jessica has lost her voice on the eve of her album release. We hope she can recover. The timing could not have been worse." Simpson had to cancel her performance on the Today show, but is supposed to perform Friday. She was also set to appear on Total Request Live on Tuesday. She could make an appearance but could not perform. Simpson’s doctor has advised that if she does not rest of voice, she could lose it "forever."
