There Is a Computer Virtual Machine in Your Personal and Professional Lifes - Part 2

What is Computer Virtualization? What is Virtual Machine VM? The following are some excerpts about this extraodinary boom that will change the current IT world in the next two or three years. In my opinion this boom will be equivalent to the PC boom 30 years ago.

Continuing from Part 1 of this article:

6. Hardware management is completely separated from software management, and hardware equipment can be treated as a single pool of processing, storage and networking power to be allocated and de-allocated on the fly to various software services.

7. In a virtual infrastructure, users see resources as if they were dedicated to them while the administrator manages and optimizes resources globally across the enterprise.

8. It reduces server sprawl, reduces the quantity of hardware and software to purchase, saves power and requires less maintenance. But those are not the only reasons that customers and vendors are interested in virtualization technology.

9. Also virtualization has a huge potential to improve security. Virtualized servers make it easier to isolate unstable or compromised applications, provide fast disaster recovery solutions, offer powerful forensic analysis capabilities and create cheaper intrusion detection tools.

10. The virtual infrastructure architecture enables businesses to lower IT costs through increased efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness. Managing a virtual infrastructure allows IT to quickly connect and manage resources to business needs.
