McCartney reportedly announced during an interview with Atlanta radio station Star 94 Thursday that Lopez was expecting her first little bundle of joy. During the interview, McCartney had mentioned that his actress-girlfriend Katie Cassidy, who is the daughter of David Cassidy, had won the coveted role of Lucy Ewing in the big screen version of Dallas. The DJ reportedly said, "Oh, so I bet your girlfriend can give us the scoop on why Jennifer Lopez was fired from the movie?" McCartney replied, "She didn’t get fired. She’s pregnant."
Ooops…McCartney backtracked on Friday and released a statement that read, "I have no firsthand knowledge whether Jennifer Lopez is pregnant or not. I thought I had read it somewhere. I apologize." Lopez had originally signed on to play Sue Ellen Ewing opposite John Travolta’s J.R. She backed out of Dallas earlier this month without a reason as to why she decided against the role. Maybe now the cat is out of the bag. Maybe her alleged pregnancy was behind the decision.
Lopez married singer Marc Anthony in June 2004. She has always maintained that she sees kids in her future. In a past interview, Lopez said, "I would love to have kids. That’s something I really want to do. I’ve always wanted to find a balance between my work and my personal life. I’m still very dedicated to my career, but it’s not my number one priority." Lopez and Anthony have sparked pregnancy rumors recently when they were spotted shopping for baby clothes.
