Brits Secure Sailing Medal

Sailing: Simon Hiscocks and Chris Draper have guaranteed a medal in the mixed 49er class with one race remaining.
Simon Hiscocks and Chris Draper have today guaranteed Great Britain their fourth sailing medal of the Games.

The British pair finished a punishing day's mixed 49er sailing in third place overall and, with just one race remaining, cannot be caught by America, who are currently fourth.

The duo won the first race of the day this morning, came ninth in the second, and cruised to sixth in the third race.

Hiscocks and Draper are in with a shout of gold too, though it would mean victory in the sixteenth and final race on Thursday and current leaders Spain finishing 12th or lower.

Though that might be unlikely, they do stand a definite chance of silver with the Ukraine crew only two points ahead in second place.
