You light in the night,
Flying through the air.
Catching site of you,
Only when you shine your light.
When the light is out,
Where only darkness falls,
There's reason for doubt
You are even still out there.
Then you fly past me,
With your light on.
Showing you're still here,
Just slightly out of reach.
For a short time,
You will be near.
Then off you go again,
To dry someone's tear.
Putting on a smile in the dark,
Hiding it all by day.
