Lizzie Grubman May Plead Her Case

Rumors are now surfacing that Lizzie Grubman, the SUV Mauler from the Hamptons, may testify before a grand jury about her actions that fateful night.
In contrast to typical legal proceedings in a case of this magnitude, Lizzie Grubman may take the stand in her own defense before the grand jury that has been called to review her case over the next several weeks. At least, her lawyer has not ruled out the possibility that Grubman could testify. So far, the jury has interviewed several Southampton police officers that were called to the scene and participated in the ensuing investigation and arrest of Grubman. Two of Grubman's famous, well-connected pals - sexy actress Tara Reid and wealthy entrepreneur Andrew Sasson - are expected to appear before the 23-member panel in the next two weeks.

Lizzie is of course claiming that the whole mess was just an accident and that allegations that she had been using drugs and drinking alcohol that night are untrue. Witnesses to the accident, including a bouncer who is suing Grubman for $27 million in damages, seem to have a different story. She is accused of backing her Mercedes SUV into a crowd outside the posh Conscience Point Inn on July 7 after becoming furious over the bouncer telling her to move from the fire lane.

At least 16 people were injured in the incident, which brought the media spotlight glaring down on Lizzie Grubman, who has been a prominent player in showbiz marketing and the Southampton party circuit. When called before the jury, Tara Reid is expected to relay details of the party she attended with Grubman before Lizzie left for Conscience Point. The starlet of "American Pie 2" did not accompany Grubman to the trendy club, and instead went on to a different hot spot.
