Dawson's Creek: Katie Holmes Being Stalked

Katie Holmes, the cutie of Dawson's Creek has an admirer who has been contacting her father and others close to her to inform them of a bogus engagement.
It's no secret that Katie Holmes and Chris Klein, one of the stars of "American Pie 2", have been a hot item for some time. But Katie's father must have been a little more than surprised to receive a phone call from a mentally disturbed "fan" of his daughter who claimed to be her fiancée. Katie's father wasted no time in contacting authorities, which promptly investigated and located the culprit, Ottawa resident Michael Willis.

Katie's father was not the only person contacted by Willis during his quest to get closer to Katie. Apparently, he also wrote several letters to an attorney for General Electric, the parent company of NBC, claiming that the broadcast company owed him $50,000 in return for stories that Tom Brokaw had stolen from him. These letters, in addition to the numerous phone calls made to the Holmes' residence, were enough to have Mr. Willis picked up by Canadian police.

The scariest part of the story, however, is that Willis is a Rhodes scholar, with an apparent history of mental illness. His attorneys are arguing that he is not responsible for his actions as a result of his mental condition and therefore should not be prosecuted for his actions. Chances are, Willis will be sent into treatment and eventually released after he has been "rehabilitated." Surely, Katie and her family cannot wait for that day to arrive.
