Russian gangsters threaten to kidnap Madonna and her kids

Singer Madonna is reportedly being threathened by Russian mobsters who are plotting to kidnap her and her two kids. The threat came as the pop icon prepared for her upcoming tour stop in Moscow next month.

However according to sources, while the Hung Up star, has taken the reported threats against her and children, Lourdes and Rocco, in stride, Husband Guy Richie, has requested increased security for his famous wife.

"Madonna is well aware of the kidnap threats but she is brave and even a little nonchalant when it comes to her own safety. Guy is seriously concerned and has made it clear that security has to be tightened, just to be on the safe side," insider said.

"Madonna doesn't anticipate any problems herself but Guy isn't convinced. Her tour director, Chris (Lamb), has been on edge after being informed about the security to increase the protection around her," the insider added.

The alleged kidnap plot is expected to have stemmed from Madonna's controversial mock crucifixion, in which she wears a crown of fake thorns while performing on a mirrored cross, that has sparked outrage among religious leaders across the globe.
