White Wings Part II

This is the mum talking to her daughter...
White Wings Part II

Every night I lie awake,
Thinking about the way you died,
I didn’t know how you felt,
So this has come as a surprise.

I know you’ve gone to heaven,
My sweet little daughter,
I hope it really is a better place,
Where you don’t suffer any longer.

I wish I could see you,
There or here,
I wish to see your smile,
With nothing to fear.

I don’t know why you did this,
I don’t know who to blame,
Who made you take the pills?
Who caused you so much shame?

It’s been a week since your death,
And I thought of you each second,
I can’t stop crying,
After what happened.

Everyday at 3pm when school ends,
I expect you to walk through the door,
With that smile on your face,
The smile that hid sadness and more.

I feel you watch me from the sky,
When I cry my tears,
When I collapse in sorrow,
When I have my fears.

I would like to join you,
Up there in the heavenly cloud,
But I have a feeling you wouldn’t want that,
It wouldn’t make you proud.

I’m sorry for the times I made you mad,
I’m sorry for the times I never let you have your way,
But I promise you child,
I’ll see you again one day.
