Salma’s New Beau
Salma Hayek has been spotted numerous times with her new beau - Sweet Home Alabama star, Josh Lucas.
It seems Salma Hayek, 36, has had no trouble moving on after her break-up with long-time love, Edward Norton. The two called it quits recently after a four-year romance. Hayek and Lucas, 32, were first spotted together at a party in Los Angeles at the beginning of August. The couple was then spotted together in Burbank on August 9, picking out a bottle of wine. Sources say that the two seemed very "sweet together" and took time to "sign autographs for fans who approached them." The following evening the two showed up at a Mexican-themed birthday party for a Hollywood agent in Brentwood looking very cozy. Their romance seems to be heating up.
Hayek and Norton, 34, enjoyed a rather quiet relationship out of the spotlight. Sources close to the couple say the problem with the couple was that Hayek craved the spotlight, while Norton preferred to remain unseen. There were reports that the odd couple had gotten married a few months back, which both camps hotly denied. Soon after that the rumors began swirling that the couple was headed in separate directions. Rumors of public arguments became increasingly frequent and it seemed the break-up was inevitable.
Lucas is a relative newcomer to the seen, striking it big with his turn as Reese Witherspoon’s redneck hubby in Sweet Home Alabama. Lucas seems to be the down-to-earth type, which may prove to be a problem for Hayek. Is he laid back enough to deal with Hayek’s love affair with the spotlight? Is it in the job description of an actor that you have to be self-involved and an egomaniac or is it that after awhile you just start to believe your own hype? Is that the reason Hollywood relationships have the life span of a fruit fly? Two overblown egos do not a relationship make.
