Law, Frost Call it Quits

Actress Sadie Frost has started divorce proceedings against Jude Law, her husband of nearly five years. The couple, who separated in January, has had a rough year. Frost, 35, said in a statement released by her publicist, "I have come very reluctantly to the decision that my marriage to Jude is over." Simon Halls, Law’s rep, said, "They are in discussions to reach an amicable decision at this time." The couple has three children, sons Rafferty, 7, Rudy, 11 months, and a daughter Iris, 2. Frost has a son, Finley, from her previous marriage to Gary Kemp of the 80’s band Spandau Ballet. Frost stated that they will "do everything in our power to make certain that this is as painless a process as possible for the benefit of the children."

Problems began last September when Frost gave birth to Rudy prematurely. In October, their daughter was rushed to the hospital after swallowing a tab of Ecstasy found on the floor of a London club during a children’s party. The couple, amid rumors of infidelity by Law, 30, and a suicide attempt by Frost, separated in January. Frost admitted to suffering from postpartum depression, but Law denied the infidelity. In March, a British mag named Nicole Kidman as the home wrecker claiming she had had an affair with Law while filming their Civil War epic, Cold Mountain. Kidman fought back and won a "substantial" judgment and an apology from the Daily Mail last month. In June, there was an incident at the Law-Frost home where police were called to the home after the nanny reported an alleged domestic dispute. No charges were pressed.

With the level of drama surrounding the couple it seems best that they put the marriage out of its misery. Another Hollywood marriage bites the dust! With the public scrutiny all the time, it must be hard to maintain a healthy relationship in the public eye. Many fans are waiting anxiously to see if there really was an outside influence and if anything will develop…
