Golf in New Zealand is played all year round with the main competition months from late summer into late autumn. The hottest months are December, January and February with March, April, October and November being the most pleasant to play your golf.
New Zealand has 4 million people, the most golf courses per head of population in the world (just ahead of Scotland), with a golf course for every 10 000 people.

New Zealand is a golfer’s paradise with a golf course in every scenic location offering fantastic views; no country can match the golfing diversity that New Zealand has to offer. Golf courses in New Zealand are all easily accessible with great green fees and friendly locals offering to play and share a drink with you. Most courses will charge between $10 and $40nzd with only the private, championship, and resort style courses charging more.

Most New Zealand courses do not require bookings with only the private, championship and resort courses requiring the advanced bookings. With the amount of golf courses around you will not have to worry about getting a game in if you do forget to book.

New Zealand has produced a number of world class well seasoned professional players the most well known being Sir Bob Charles who won a number of international tournaments with his most famous being the 1963 British Open and 2005 US Open winner Michael Campbell
Some off the other New Zealand professionals include Simon Owen, Craig Perks, Grant Waite, Frank Nobilo, David Smail, Steven Alker, Marnie McGuire, Lynette Brooky, Michael Long, Phillip Tatarangi, Richard Lee and Greg Turner.

New Zealand also has a number of other up and coming professionals including Eddie Lee, Mahal Pearce, Tim Wilkinson, Gareth Padderson and Bradley Heaven just to name a few.
