Show Your Classic Car Pride
In the state of Michigan, there is one city that would be offering car buffs, lovers, and aficionados a chance to take a view at cars that were long past the production stage and are now considered to be classic cars. This city is Bay City and as part of their monthly event called First Thursday Gallery Walk, they would be setting up and showcasing classic cars. Classic cars were chosen as the theme for the month’s event.
This is not going to be just another classic car show where people just come around and show off their vehicles and companies offer their classic car products like Oldsmobile accessories and the like. In this one, it would be more than that. The Bay City Motor Company would be featuring cars that are already in their own showrooms. Also, local talents would be featured. Those artists who did dub their brushes into pools of creativity to create classic vehicles and other cars would be featured.
The event would also be showing a movie very famous for its car chase scenes. Remember the movie ‘Bullitt’? This movie was set in the city of San Francisco and it starts Detective Frank Bullitt who’s out and driving a 1968 Ford Mustang GT. And, yes, he is out chasing hit-men and bad guys driving a 1968 Dodge Charger. Well, if you’re up to relive the car scenes and car chases of that movie, better head down to the event.
According to Scott Cotton, one owner of a classic car that would be shown off at the First Thursday Gallery Walk, "It’s sort of a showcase to see the vehicles. A thousand people come through here a week. Everyone enjoys it. It’s become a tourist attraction. We want to make everything down here better. We can do this in a barn in the middle of nowhere, but we chose to come down here."
Those who would be taking part of the said event would be up to find a variety of classic cars that could range from those ever famous Ford Mustangs. And yes, you also could find one anniversary edition Grand Prix vehicle.
