Hair loss is a common and a severe problem people face. There are different causes of hair loss: diseases, stress, use of medicines, family history, hormone imbalance etc. and improper care of hairs is one of the major factors which lead to the problem of hair loss. Following are some causes of hair loss:
Common reason of hair loss is different hairstyles that we use. Do not keep hairstyle that needs to pull the hair. You should try combination of hairstyles that includes looser hairstyle and the hairstyle that needs to stress/pull hair.
Many men and women use chemicals on their hairs in order to make them look beautiful, but these chemical treatments cause more hair damage if are not done correctly. Improper use of dyes, bleaches, tints, straighteners, and permanent waves destroy hair structure and cause hair loss. Because of improper chemical treatments our hair can become weak, thin and break before their resting period where they shed naturally. If chemical treatment is used too often, then it can harm hairs. You should not use two different chemical treatments on same day. If a chemical treatment is harming your hairs, it is better to stop using that treatment until your hairs grow properly and become healthy.
People use shampoo to make hair shine, but too often shampooing can damage hair. Find out which type of shampoo suits your hair and then only use it. People often loose hair because of wrong practice of combing and brushing hair. Use cream, conditioner or gel which has nourishing ingredients, use of these things makes hair more manageable and easier to comb.
Many people rub their hair when they are wet, wet hair is fragile and can break easily, so you should not rub hair rigorously with a towel. You should also avoid combing or brushing hair until you apply hair-oil, cream, conditioner or a gel which helps comb hair easily. Use of comb or brush in which hair entangles and break should be avoided.
One common cause of hair loss is "Hereditary Thinning or Balding". A person can inherit this from either his/her mother’s or father’s side of the family. Women with this characteristic do not become completely bald, but they develop thin hair. This is called androgenetic alopecia. It is very hard to find a proper cure/treatment for this condition. There are some lotions and pills which help patients with this condition at some extent.
Alopecia Areata is a disease of hair loss in which, hair usually falls out, resulting in totally smooth, round patches of skin about the size of a coin or larger. It can, though rare, result in complete loss of scalp and body hair. This disease may affect children or adults of any age. Sometimes, hair regrows by itself in this disease. There are some treatments available for patients with this disease which includes topical medications, a special kind of light treatment, or in some cases pills.
When a woman is pregnant, her hairs grow at very high speed. However, after a woman delivers her baby, many hairs enter the resting phase of the hair cycle. Within two to three months, which is a resting period of hairs, women will notice excessive hair loss. But this is nothing to worry about, as this is a natural process and resolves in most of the cases.
Some diseases cause hair loss, the patient undergoes stress during the period he/she is ill and may experience hair loss. High Fever, Severe Infection, Severe Flu - Illnesses are type of some illnesses which may cause hairs to enter the resting phase and shed. Similarly, if thyroid is over-active or under-active, then it can cause hair loss. There are some proper treatments which can help in this. Major surgery and chronic illness also cause hair loss.
Various types of medications also cause hair loss. Sometimes, drugs that are prescribed by doctor for any other disease may cause in hair loss, this can be prevented by taking substitute for that medicine. Some cancer treatments cause hair cells to stop dividing, causing hair to become thin and break easily.
If a person is taking improper diet, then in that case, he/she may experience hair loss. This happens mostly because of people take inadequate protein in diet. The body makes a compromise by shifting growing hair into resting phase to save protein. People with this problem should take diet which contains proper amount of protein.
