Cheese biscuits!
Quick and easy to make, they're great for when you're expecting company!
All of this takes about 10 minutes to prepare, another 10 to bake.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
If you have a mixer, dump in two cups of self-rising flour, two sticks of softened butter (you can soften it in the microwave on high for 20 seconds)
and two cups of shredded cheese (I buy the preshredded stuff in bags because I'm lazy).
Add a little salt, if you like..a 1/4 teaspoon is plenty!
Turn on the mixer until everythings well blended...the medium setting works best for me!
Shape your dough into a roll about as big around as your wrist - it'll be a foot long or more.
Take a knife and slice it into 1/2 inch thick slices (the thickness of your pinky).
Lay these slices on your metal cookie sheet, (no oil needed) and cook 'em for about 8-10 minutes...the bottom will get brown, not the tops.
Eat 'em up!
Tips: If you don't have self rising flour, you can use the all-purpose stuff -
just add a tablespoon of baking powder.
You can roll this out, and use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
