Is Ben off the Wagon?

The couple, recently coined ‘Bennifer’, has endured their fair share of gossip and innuendo, but rarely have they felt the need to strike back – until now. The latest story surrounding the two is that their relationship is on the verge of destruction following Ben’s night of debauchery last month in Vancouver. It is rumored that while on location, Affleck and one of his co-stars on his latest project Paycheck, did some bar hopping on July 17. The rehabbed star reportedly stuck to water and was said to have been tipping $50 per round. Affleck and his unnamed companion then hit Brandi’s Exotic Nightclub, running into Hollywood wild child Tara Reid and Christian Slater and his wife Ryan Haddon. Ben reportedly enjoyed a few lap dances while at the club.

The problem comes into play with reports from a tabloid mag that Affleck then proceeded to have "sex in the private back room" of the bar with one of the strippers. Supposedly the party continued at Slater’s rented house with reports from two eyewitnesses that they saw Ben having sex with another stripper and that "the party turned into a drugs, booze, and sex orgy." Reports vary as to whether Affleck was drinking or participating in any of the drug use.

On August 2, Lopez appeared on the club scene in Los Angeles sans her fiancé and very large engagement ring. Sources say she wanted to be noticed and was successful. La Lopez danced with anyone who asked and was open about the "drama" of her week. The reports that the couple is on the outs have firmly been denied. Lopez shrugged it off with a "boys will be boys" attitude when interviewed by her sister on Lynda’s radio show. He was reportedly tested for drugs and alcohol to prove he had not slipped off the wagon. He was clean "as a whistle" according to reports. Maybe the romance between Lopez and Affleck is coming to an end or maybe, as previously thought, there never was a real romance…it could have been Hollywood smoke and mirrors. Either way, it didn’t seem to help boost their film. After the disastrous ratings for Gigli, they just might never recover.
