Reportedly, the "fake" Paris looks so much like the real thing that even her friends are having a hard time telling them apart. Apparently, the woman posing as Hilton has the same bleached blonde hair, carries a pet Chihuahua around, and constantly says, "That’s hot!" A source has said the fake Paris has tried to get VIP treatment at Disneyland. Said the source, "She was telling people she’d call [Disney chief] Michael Eisner."
The imposter allegedly tried to get upgrades at the Four Seasons hotel in Maui. A source said, "The hotel management finally got suspicious and called [Paris’ parents] Rick and Kathy, who told [them] Paris wasn’t even in Hawaii." Another source said the Hilton’s are concerned about "identity theft," especially after someone reportedly tried to get a credit card in Paris’ name. Paris’ rep did say that the heiress was "concerned," but wouldn’t elaborate more.
This is all on the heels of Jessica Simpson’s own nightmare after someone posed as her assistant and BFF, Cacee Cobb, in order to get freebies. Courtney Handel, a 23-year-old New Jersey woman, was arrested for assuming the identity of Cobb. Posing as Cobb, Handel contacted companies and had them send her free samples of products. Handle reportedly received upwards of $12,000 in merchandise, all of which she planned to auction on eBay.
