Britney Spears Denies Knowledge of Shooting

Photographer Brad Diaz was reportedly shot in the leg by a BB gun outside a Malibu, California home Saturday night. Diaz was staking out what was apparently a baby shower for Spears. According to Sheriff’s Lieutenant Steve Smith, Diaz was one of approximately 10 photographers milling in the street about 200 yards from the home. Diaz claims the shot came from the direction of the house, but Smith said, "It could’ve been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from." The injury was easily treated with an adhesive bandage.

Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Knudsen said of the incident, "Because of the media attention, we’ll probably put this on the front burner to settle the whole thing." A detective was reportedly placed on the case and there is talk of reconstructing the incident and interviewing all those who were involved in what Diaz is calling "misdemeanor battery." Spears and Co. insist that they know nothing about the shooting. Said her publicist Nicole King, "Britney didn’t know anything about it. She had nothing to do with it."

Photos have been released showing a very pregnant Britney having a good time with friends and family at what was apparently her baby shower. Her mom Lynne and little sis Jamie-Lynn joined Spears and reportedly hubby Federline’s two kids with his ex, Shar Jackson. In other recent news, Jamie-Lynn, 14, has been blasted for allegedly smoking in front of her big sister. Hopefully, Little Spears isn’t following her big sister’s example by taking up smoking. What's next? Barefoot public bathroom romps? A 96-hour marriage?
