Kylie 'fell to pieces' when told about cancer
Pop diva Kylie Minogue says she "all fell to pieces" when doctors told her that she had breast cancer, in an interview to be telecast in Britain later this month.
Minogue, 38, who ventured back on stage a few weeks ago when she appeared at a London nightspot to sing with her sister Danni Minogue, also said she is looking forward to getting back to her musical career.
She was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer while preparing for the Australian leg of her Showgirl Tour in May 2005. She underwent surgery in Melbourne and further treatment in Europe which ended in December.
"The moment my doctors told me, I went silent," the diminutive Australian-born chanteuse said in the interview, part of an hour-long documentary to air on Sky One television on July 16.
"My mum and dad were with me. We all fell to pieces. I was saying: 'No, I'm getting on a plane' (to continue the tour). They said: 'No you're not. Sit down'."
Last weekend Minogue made what she called "my official coming out" at a celebrity-studded charity bash at singer Elton John's country home, west of London, that raised money for AIDS victims.
