Win loose or draw
Soccer: World Cup: Blame the British Sports media for loosing yet another competition...
Ok, so England’s quarter final exit from the World Cup was all too predictable. Now the post mortem begins.
Was it the players that under performed? Was it the manger that got the tactics wrong? No, they did what they could. I don’t doubt for a second that every man wanted to win and put his heart and soul into every game.
The players had, and still have the utmost respect for Sven as did he for his players. They gave it their best shot.
The fans, although disappointed, are proud of their team and will be back when they take to field once more to cheer on their gallant heroes.
So who’s to blame? If the players and the manager and the fans were all on the same side, with the heart and belief; who on earth put the spoke in the wheel. Well - of course it was the old enemy. The treacherous, shameful, slimy serpent, the British Sports media. It’s all too common a site isn’t it?
They can’t wait to stick the boot in. Now that we are out, so are the knives. The sports press is full of self appointed so called, football experts, trotting out their old bollocks about how the formation of the team wasn’t right and who should have been playing and who shouldn’t.
Unfortunately for England we are doomed to never win a major competition because team moral, and that of the army of fans, is constantly undermined by a bunch toss pots and has beens in the media that can’t pluck up the courage to get behind their team.
All right make criticisms in between times but when the build up to the competitions start, that’s when its time to close ranks and joined the rest of us. Get behind the team and show them we are united and that they have our full support win, loose or draw.
