Britney Spears Behaving Badly

Spears sang four songs and had begun performing her hit "Stronger" when, with no explanation, she quit singing and reportedly said, "I’m sorry Mexico. I love you. Bye." She then left the arena, the lights came up and the 50,000 expectant fans were commanded to leave the Foro Sol stadium. It was reported that the fans went crazy, throwing Britney memorabilia and shouting "fraud." No word yet on whether or not the show will be rescheduled or a refund would be in store for concertgoers.

The concert fiasco came on the heels of the controversy Spears sparked upon arriving in Mexico City last Tuesday. After arriving at the Mexico City airport, Spears was caught on film giving the middle finger. She claims the obscene gesture was meant for the paparazzi and not for the local fans. Spears was quoted at a press conference Friday saying, "Actually what happened was, I got off the plane and everyone was driving really recklessly around me, all the paparazzi. And they almost hit our car and they kept getting out. But I love my fans here, I embrace them completely. It was the paparazzi I was mad at. I’m human, too. I get mad like everyone else."

It seems as if life is taking its toll on the pop tart. She has been seen smoking and partying. She was caught on tape using the F-word during a sound check last year when she didn’t realize her microphone was on and inadvertently became a huge hit on Napster. It has recently been reported that her parents have separated and her long time romance with *NSync-er, Justin Timberlake, recently ended in March. Is Britney getting a bad rap for living like a normal 20 year-old? She is in limbo, not a girl, not yet a woman. Maybe it is time Brit took some time off for her and got her act together.
